National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) conduct a Online written examination for the recruitment of 362 Administrative Officers (AO) in Generalist and Specialist discipline  for its offices all over India. In this article we will discuss about National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) exams syllabus, Pattern & Eligibility Criteria

Administrative Officers (AO) Exam Pattern : The selection would be in the stages of Screening test (online multiple choice objective type), Descriptive Test and interview. The Descriptive English Test will be conducted only through online mode. Questions will be displayed on the screen of your computer. Answers are to be typed using the keyboard. Before start of typing answers to questions in Descriptive Paper please check all key functions of the keyboard. You will get 45 minutes to answer the questions. The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

For Generalist Posts :

  • Type of Questions : Objective
  • No. of Questions : 160
  • Duration : 2 Hours (120 Minute)

This time the exam is going to be online. This exam consists of the following sections.

  • Reasoning : 40 Marks
  • English Language : 40 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude : 40 Marks
  • General Awareness (with special reference to Financial Sector) : 40 Marks

For Specialist Posts :

  • Type of Questions : Objective
  • No. of Questions : 160
  • Duration : 2 Hours (120 Minute)

This exam consists of the following sections.

  • Reasoning : 30 Marks
  • English Language : 30 Marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude : 30 Marks
  • General Awareness (with special reference to Financial Sector) : 30 Marks
  • Technical & professional knowledge in relevant discipline : 40 Marks

Descriptive Test :

  • Name of Tests : Essay writing/précis writing and Letter writing
  • No. of Questions : 3 Questions
  • Duration : 45 minutes

The total marks of the examination will be 200 which includes 40 marks of the English Descriptive Section. Candidates will be shortlisted for Interview on the basis of overall marks scored in objective and descriptive section taken together against full marks of 200. For each wrong answer marked ¼ of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted from those obtained.

Technical & professional knowledge in the relevant discipline : This paper will include questions based on the post they are applied for, Expect questions in graduation level, a good reference of text books in your degree class with some current affairs on the subject will make things easy. The following areas are considered important based on the previous year examinations.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • For Generalist : Candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a Degree in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government.
  • For Finance : Chartered Accountant (ICAI) / Cost Accountant (ICWA)/ MBA Finance / B.Com / M.Com.
  • For Automobile Engineering : B.E./B.Tech. in Automobile Engineering OR Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with Diploma (at least one year duration) in Automobile Engineering.
  • For Legal : Graduate in Law.

Age Limit :

Minimum : 21 years
Maximum : 30 years
